Details of rumoured LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets emerge

Thanks to listings from an online retailer, we now have more details regarding rumoured LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets for 2023.

Rumours of potential LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets first appeared last year, with initial information suggesting at least five models might be released this summer. First details of the builds hinted that the sets might all be based around key scenes from the original Steven Spielberg dino movie and offer a possible variety of price points.

Thanks to French online retailer Jouéclub, and then posted by Instagram-user exabrickslegogo, we now have a better idea of what may be included in each of those rumoured LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets. Listings have appeared for each of the five models, with details of some potential product numbers, names, piece counts and prices.

76957 Velociraptor Escape is said to be a 4+ model that may include an all-terrain vehicle, an enclosure with tower, an escape function, a winch to lower food, a velociraptor and two minifigures with accessories. The 137-piece build is reported to be priced at $34.99.

Up next is 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush, a 211-piece model that may retail for $19.99 and include a dilophosaur, Jurassic Park Jeep and a Dennis Nedry minifigure. The set is also said to come with a small jungle scene to construct with a panel that the Jeep hits, as in the film, plus a mini bottle of shaving foam featured in the iconic scene.

76959 Triceratops Search is listed as featuring a Jurassic Park Ford Explorer vehicle, with an on-board navigation system to track down dinosaurs, plus minifigures of Dr Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm. The set is also said to feature an articulated triceratops, a buildable dung pile containing toxic berries and a shovel accessory. There’s currently no confirmation in the listing of either a piece count or price.

Coming in at $79.99 is 76960 Brachiosaurus Encounter, a 512-piece model that is said to include an articulated brachiosaur measuring more than 24cm in height. The set is also reported to feature a Jeep Wrangler vehicle, minifigures of Dr Alan Grant, Dr Ellie Sattler and John Hammond, plus a tree with observation platform and detachable leaves to ‘feed’ the dinosaur.

Finally, the largest of the three LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary models is listed as being 76961 Visitor Center: T. rex and Velociraptor Attack. A 12+ set (originally rumoured to be 18+), the 693-piece build is said to recreate the iconic location from the finale of the film with translucent panels decorated with dinosaur motifs separating the hall, restaurant and lab areas. In addition, the set may include a T. rex skeleton, a banner that can be dropped using a trigger, a T. rex and velociraptor, plus six minifigures of Dr Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm, Dr Alan Grant, Ray Arnold, Dr Henry Wu, Lex Murphy and Tim Murphy. Measuring 16cm tall, 32cm wide and 17cm, the LEGO Jurassic Park build is said to retail for $119.99

As usual with any rumours for potential upcoming sets, do treat all of the above information with caution until such time as the LEGO Group confirms the existence of such models.
