LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2024 – everything we know so far

From LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary gifts-with-purchase to nine brand new sets, here’s everything we know about May the 4th in 2024 so far.

It’s somehow February already, which means May is really just around the corner – and with it, the annual tradition that is Star Wars Day. May the 4th (because ‘May the 4th be with you’, May the Force be with you, you get it) is no longer just a day, though: for the LEGO Group, it’s a chance to celebrate a galaxy far, far away for an entire week.

Previous years’ events have included double, triple or even quintuple points on selected LEGO Star Wars sets – worth up to 25% cashback – along with deep discounts, new and exclusive gifts-with-purchase, and of course the launch of new sets. We’re anticipating all of those to return in 2024, and rumours are now starting to paint a picture of what to expect from May the 4th this year.

Dive into everything we know so far below, pieced together from sources including Brick Clicker, 1414falconfan, exabrickslegogo_ and other reliable sources in the LEGO community. Bear in mind though that nothing is strictly confirmed until the LEGO Group makes it official, so take these details with the requisite pinch of salt for now.

LEGO May the 4th 2024 deals

The LEGO Group usually cooks up a super slate of LEGO Star Wars deals for May the 4th, and we’re expecting the same again for 2024. Nothing has been rumoured or confirmed at the time of writing, but a quick glance at last year’s offers could clue us into what the LEGO Group is planning for 2024.

In 2023, you could secure double points on all LEGO Star Wars sets at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, with 5x points available on selected sets in stores. Those offers were in addition to the gifts-with-purchase available across the week (more on those down below). But official LEGO channels are never the only place to secure the best May the 4th deals.

Retailers including John Lewis, the Disney Store and Zavvi were all in on the action last year, with major discounts on some of the biggest, best and hardest-to-find LEGO Star Wars sets around – including 75313 AT-AT, 75331 The Razor Crest and 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina, along with (of course) 75192 Millennium Falcon.

All of those and more could be in play again this year, with new sets now listed at the likes of the Disney Store (which is carrying 75355 X-wing Starfighter and 75371 Chewbacca) and potentially open to discounts. Keep an eye on Amazon, GAME and others, too – you never know where you might find a deal. (To keep track of all of them, check out our LEGO deals page and our May the 4th page closer to the time.)

LEGO May the 4th 2024 dates

The LEGO Group has yet to confirm when exactly this year’s May the 4th event will take place, but in 2023 we had an entire week to take advantage of all the official offers and deals. The company’s official celebrations kicked off on May 1 and ran through to May 7, with discounts and gifts-with-purchase available while stocks lasted during that period.

Current rumours suggest that this year’s gifts-with-purchase will be available from Wednesday, May 1, so you won’t have to wait until May 4 itself to snap them up. Exactly how long they’ll be available remains to be seen, but 2023 wasn’t the first time the LEGO Group had expanded the May the 4th bonanza to an entire week: in 2022, it ran from May 1 to 8.

Other retailers’ deals are even more unpredictable. In 2023, John Lewis launched its LEGO May the 4th sale on April 28, beating the rest to the punch with some unmissable offers. LEGO May the 4th 2024 gifts-with-purchase

A trio of LEGO Star Wars May the 4th gifts-with-purchase are said to be on the cards for 2024, headlined by 40686 Battle Droid Carrier. Potentially forming a tribute to 2001’s 7126 Battle Droid Carrier (or 2011’s 7929 The Battle of Naboo, 2015’s 75086 Battle Droid Troop Carrier or all three), the 262-piece model is said to come with between six and eight Battle Droid minifigures.

The rumour mill suggests that set will be accompanied by two non-brick-based free gifts in the form of an adhesive patch and keychain, both of which are thought to be anchored around R2-D2. The astromech droid is front and centre on the LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary logo, while a new buildable Artoo is on the way in March, so it makes sense that he’d be fronting the freebies in May too.

There’s no word yet on how much you’ll need to spend to pick up these gifts-with-purchase, but last year’s 40591 Death Star II required a minimum spend of £130 / $150 / €150 on LEGO Star Wars sets only, while 5007840 Return of the Jedi 40th Collectible was free with LEGO Star Wars orders above £80 / $85 / €85.

It’s also not clear whether the adhesive patch and keychain will be separate gifts-with-purchase or part of the same bundle, perhaps labelled as a 25th-anniversary collectible in the same way as last year’s Return of the Jedi coin. That would leave a gap for a third free gift at the same spend threshold as 2023’s polybag 30654 X-Wing Starfighter, which was available with purchases above £35 / $40 / €40.

One new LEGO Star Wars polybag is already out in the wild in 2024 in the shape of 30680 AAT, but another is rumoured to be on the way in May. Either of those could end up being free with qualifying purchases across the May the 4th period.

LEGO May the 4th 2024 new sets

A total of nine new LEGO Star Wars sets are currently rumoured to be dropping for May 2024, including the aforementioned gift-with-purchase 40686 Battle Droid Carrier. The rest are a varied mix of playsets, a diorama, BrickHeadz characters, a polybag, a UCS set and more.

Three sets are rumoured to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, including 75380 Boonta Eve Podrace Diorama, 75381 Droideka and 75383 Sith Infiltrator. The diorama is said to be a microscale recreation of the moment Anakin and Sebulba’s podracers pass through Arch Canyon, while the Droideka is rumoured to be a buildable character complete with a display stand, information plaque and minifigure-scale Destroyer Droid.

The latest Sith Infiltrator, meanwhile, sounds like a smaller and more affordable take on the ship than its last iteration, coming in at just $69.99. The minifigure line-up is pretty fluid at the moment, but is currently believed to include at least Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Anakin Skywalker and Saw Gerrera, who’s said to be joining the range as a 25th-anniversary bonus character. (Clues from the LEGO Group’s Star Wars page have supported this theory.)

Also said to be championing 25 years of the first prequel trilogy film is 40676 The Phantom Menace Collection, a BrickHeadz set that’s rumoured to include statuettes of Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Anakin in his podracing gear, Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka and Jar Jar Binks. The six-pack is said to be arriving alongside a standalone BrickHeadz in 40675 Commander Cody.

While most of the focus is on The Phantom Menace, though, the LEGO Group hasn’t forgotten the wider Star Wars universe. 75378 BARC Speeder Escape is rumoured to be based on The Mandalorian Season 3, recreating Kelleran Beq’s daring rescue of Grogu from the Jedi Temple during Order 66. It’s thought to include both those characters and two 501st Legion Clone Troopers.

Finally, the collection will reportedly be rounded out by two sets at either end of the size spectrum: a polybag that could really be anything at this point, and 75382 TIE Interceptor, which is said to be this year’s first Ultimate Collector Series set. Remaking one of the very first LEGO Star Wars UCS sets definitely feels like the kind of thing the LEGO Group would do for the theme’s 25th anniversary, even if 7191 TIE Interceptor originally debuted in 2001.

Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
