New LEGO rumour explains missing character from Disney 100th anniversary Collectible Minifigures

A new LEGO Disney rumour explains a gap in the reported line-up for the Disney 100th anniversary Collectible Minifigures series.

An initial list of characters said to be included in the next Collectible Minifigures series emerged earlier this week, but there was one big omission in the list: Tinker Bell. And as we all know, whenever Tinker Bell isn’t in a list of LEGO Disney minifigures, all the other characters should be asking, “Where’s Tink?”

Or at least they should be this time, because the Peter Pan character is so far the only Disney icon actually confirmed for the LEGO Group’s House of Mouse line-up in 2023. Tink’s arm and hand featured on the teaser poster for the LEGO Disney 100th anniversary range, suggesting she might be included in the rumoured Collectible Minifigures series.

However, that 18-strong line-up of characters – while encompassing everyone from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Baymax – doesn’t include Tinker Bell, leaving us with two possibilities: the rumoured list is false, or she’s due to arrive in a different LEGO Disney set. According to a fresh rumour around this year’s 100th anniversary products, we’re looking at the latter.

43212 Disney Birthday Train is said to be launching on April 1, with 200 pieces and a whopping six characters in the box for $39.99 / €39.99. Among that line-up will apparently be Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Moana, Woody, Peter Pan and – you guessed it – Tinker Bell. There’s no word yet on whether these will be minifigures or mini-dolls, but with one eye on the aforementioned teaser poster, the safe money is on traditional minifigures.

At least one LEGO Disney 100th anniversary product has already been revealed, in the guise of 40622 Disney 100th Celebration, a BrickHeadz four-pack that also includes Tinker Bell. The character is clearly high on the LEGO Group’s priority list for this year, and if she does get a brand new minifigure in 43212 Disney Birthday Train, it will be her first since the exclusive variant included in the now-retired 71040 The Disney Castle.

Check out the list below for a recap of everything LEGO Disney fans have to look forward to this year.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
