LEGO Star Wars May the 4th Insiders poster review

LEGO Star Wars is celebrating this year’s May the 4th event with a return to specially-commissioned artwork in the form of an exclusive Insiders poster.

Available from May 1 at LEGO.com’s Insiders Rewards Centre while stocks last or possibly up to May 5, the Insiders Star Wars poster is a celebration of 25 years of LEGO Star Wars as imagined through a collection of images of various minifigure characters from the past quarter-century.

Created by artist Joe Hogan, the print is limited edition and features hand-drawn versions of 65 different characters, including a larger R2-D2 front and centre, a version of Jedi Bob with new skin tone and a new version of Nien Nunb that has yet to appear in a set.

The art style mimics previous work from Joe and captures the charm and variety that LEGO Star Wars’ roster of characters has offered over the years, making for a very collectible and appropriate marker for the 25-year celebrations this May the 4th. The character selection is excellent and a little out of left field in places too, including a number of original designs for some of the characters, as opposed to their most recent designs.

It measures 30cm wide and 40cm tall, or relatively close to A3 proportions, and is available at a cost of 1,800 Insiders points, an amount that could otherwise get you just over £11 of gift vouchers off your next purchase at LEGO.com. That amount of points would have cost you £225 to have accumulated too.

So, is it worth it? Yes, so say goodbye to those points. The point to such a loyalty scheme as Insiders is to offer bonuses that are genuinely good and add value to your LEGO experience, and this return to commissioned artwork for LEGO Star Wars at May the 4th time is a perfect example of just that.

This Star Wars poster designed by Joe Hogan is available at the Insiders Rewards Centre from May 1 through to May 5, or while stocks last, for a spend of 1,800 Insiders points. There are a host of May the 4th deals at LEGO.com and elsewhere – stay ahead of all the deals at our dedicated May the 4th hub.

Sign up to the Insiders program today to start accumulating points on every LEGO.com and LEGO Store purchase you make and head over to the rewards centre to redeem those points for such items as above, or money off vouchers.
