Is LEGO Super Mario teasing a new Bowser’s Castle set?

One of three newly revealed LEGO Super Mario sets may be teasing another model though rumour suggests that it may be something else entirely.

The two train stations in 71437 The Bowser Express Train represent the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser’s region with a sign pointing towards the main fortress in both.

The Mushroom Kingdom’s station represents the new 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle, down to its profile, banner placement and colour scheme. The sign on the other station is a bit less obvious though.

Bowser’s station has a sign with a castle that somewhat resembles 71423 Dry Bowser Castle Battle, though it’s missing the green roof elements and colours the smaller towers’ tops entirely black instead of grey, black and green.

Otherwise, the castle sign is a close match to the set. A new Bowser’s castle in the same folding style as 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle and 71436 King Boo’s Haunted Mansion would be interesting. This seems likely to be referencing 71423 Dry Bowser Castle Battle though with a simplified colour scheme on par with Peach’s castle on the other sign. We’d also note that no current LEGO Super Mario rumours suggest that another fortress is on the way.

Thankfully, it’s easy to pick up Bowser at the minute thanks to 71431 Bowser’s Muscle Car as the character is usually otherwise reserved for his own or Peach’s castle. 71423 Dry Bowser Castle Battle is also on sale at the time of writing on the official online store and in LEGO stores and you can score double LEGO Insiders points for Mario Day too.
