We might not be far off a LEGO Fellowship of the BrickHeadz

With more rumoured LEGO BrickHeadz based on Lord of the Rings characters, we might soon not be far off getting a full Fellowship in the same style.

According to rumours sourced via Instagram user 1414falconfan, 40751 Legolas and Gimli should be on its way sometime in 2024, joining 40630 Frodo & Gollum, 40631 Gandalf the Grey & Balrog, and 40632 Aragorn & Arwen. If this rings true, that would leave just the three hobbits, Samwell, Merry, and Pippin, and a final human, Boromir, to bring us up to the full complement of nine.

We’ve already had all of these characters in LEGO form recently as minifigures in 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell but for a full set of nine BrickHeadz, we’d need at least two more sets of BrickHeadz. We’ve been thinking about what combinations could come to provide us with a full Fellowship.

Merry and Pippin

An obvious choice is this unbeatable duo. Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took are separated for a heartbreaking length of time that no one wants to relive, so if we ever get them as BrickHeadz, we’d hope that they come as a duo. We’ve got a working design of how a hobbit should look from Frodo’s figure in 40630 Frodo & Gollum, but some key differences would be Merry and Pippin’s longer and lighter hair, as well as their typically yellow and green waistcoats in comparison to Frodo’s red.

Samwell and Shelob

Now, it might have made the most sense to get Sam alongside Frodo, but that honour has already gone to Gollom. Much like Gandalf is paired with the beast that almost kills him in 40631 Gandalf the Grey & Balrog, a way to still get a BrickHeadz version of Sam would be to combine it with Shelob, the enormous spider he kills to save Frodo. It’s Samwell’s finest moment and, in all honesty, a creepy little BrickHeadz-style Shelob would be far cuter than the on-screen counterpart.

Boromir and Lurtz

Sticking with the theme of pairing heroes with villains, Boromir would make a strong match with Lurtz, the enormous orc that ultimately takes Boromir down on his path of redemption to save the hobbits. Of all the characters mentioned here, Lurtz’s strikingly horrifying appearance, from the greasy black top-knot to the White Hand of Isengard emblazoned across his face, would make for an incredibly cool LEGO BrickHeadz design.

Of course, this is all speculation for now and there’s not even rumours to suggest we’re getting anything more than 40751 Legolas and Gimli when it comes to The Lord of the Rings BrickHeadz. Looking ahead to future years, however, fingers crossed there will one day be a means of getting the full Fellowship of the BrickHeadz.
