More details on rumoured LEGO Icons 10315 Zen Garden

More details have emerged on the rumoured LEGO Icons 10315 Zen Garden, including a description of exactly what to expect from the diorama-style set.

Instagram user brick_clicker corroborates previous rumours that the potential 10315 Zen Garden will include 1,363 pieces for $109.99. It’s been suggested that the set will be released on August 1, 2023, and will be set in an ‘18+ style black diorama base’, akin to the LEGO Star Wars dioramas and 76956 T. rex Breakout.

This would allow the rumoured set to fall in line with other nature-based LEGO Icons sets, which rather than being used for play are often designed as decorative pieces (see for example 10281 Bonsai Tree, which has proved hugely popular and was frequently out of stock after its initial launch).

According to brick_clicker, 10315 Zen Garden will include red and yellow Bonsai trees at opposite corners, while the remaining two corners are filled with a lotus flower and bamboo sticks. It’s apparently all framed around a large black pagoda in the centre, and the source reckons it could be ‘one of the best sets of the year’.

LEGO Icons, first known as LEGO Creator Expert back in 2000, has given us classic sets such as 10276 Colosseum and 10294 Titanic. More recently, we’ve seen the rise of the popularity of real-world style LEGO Icons sets, such as the Botanical Collection, which this year has grown with 10313 Wildflower Bouquet and 10314 Dried Flower Centrepiece.

The idea of a LEGO Zen Garden has been seen before, with fan creators on LEGO Ideas having pitched similar concepts in the past, and some definitely leaned more on the complex side with over 2,000 pieces.

For now, we’ll have to wait for the LEGO Group to make an official announcement about the rumoured 10315 Zen Garden, so take the rumours with a bit of caution.
