Teenager breaks LEGO Guinness World Record with 31203 World Map
A teenager in Maine has broken the Guinness World Record by speed-building LEGO Art 31203 World Map.
13-year-old Cooper Wright has beaten the world record for the fastest time to build the 11695-piece set, according to News Center Maine. The teen built the entire set in less than ten hours, breaking the previous record of 12 hours.
Cooper first started building LEGO at the age of three, giving him a full decade to hone his skills. In fact, he told the publication that he believed he could have done it even faster, if only the set didn’t suffer a break halfway through.
“I think that [31203 World Map] was probably harder than any other one I’ve done,” Cooper told News Center Maine. “It’s not like this where they’re like in all different ways and shapes, it’s one board and you put them in like pegs. So, it’s different.”
The young builder also explained that he kept his strategy simple, saying: “My strategy was just build it as fast as I could. It was fun but it was very long and tedious to do.”
