Fresh LEGO Batman playthrough reveals new game features

Previously-unseen gameplay content included in the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been revealed in a new video.

The current pre-alpha version of the existing LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight demo has been doing the rounds for the last couple of months, first at Gamescom then New York Comic Con and up next at this weekend’s MCM Comic Con and EGX in London.

While we’ve only seen a fraction of the upcoming TT Games title to date, a fresh playthrough of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has now popped up on YouTube courtesy of SuperPaladin.

The deep dive video features the first full story mission that has been revealed before, The Red Hood Gang, plus plenty of new free roam footage around a section of Gotham City. Clocking in at over one hour, the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight gameplay boasts all kinds of previously-unseen features and content that players will definitely want to sink their teeth into.

That includes a first look at more of the game’s map, with North Island, Central Island and South Island joining Tricorner Island as locations to explore. New shots of collectible Bat-Tokens (x50), Wayne-Tech upgrade caches (x20) and rubber ducks (x10) can also be spotted, as well as a selection of what appear to be quite tricky Riddler puzzles to crack, including a lethal electrical-based conundrum.

During the free roam sections of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, players will also be able to respond to crime’s being committed, such as preventing thefts, stopping break-ins, assisting police officers and other cries for help from citizens in trouble.

What’s more, the new video reveals one of the game’s time trial challenges, with a vehicular-based race through a number of glowing blue gates dotted around the gloomy streets of Gotham City, resulting in gold, silver and bronze stud rewards.

In addition, the latest LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight playthrough gives a glimpse at various extras for completing story missions, such as Skill Bricks, a Costume Party sheriff’s outfit for Jim Gordon, a silhouette of a Batcave Trophy, and what seems to be a joystick-shaped Red Brick waiting to be unlocked.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2026. Players can already sign up for a free Golden Age Batsuit inspired by Detective Comics #27 right now by signing up for a WB Games account.
