LEGO 40584 Birthday Diorama model officially confirmed for 2023

A mysterious new LEGO model has been officially confirmed to be arriving at some point in 2023, in the shape of 40584 Birthday Diorama.

The official Building Instructions page continues to provide an insight into upcoming LEGO sets due to arrive in 2023. Following confirmation of two new polybags launching next year, another set has also appeared online, although few details are currently available as to what the model will actually be.

Releasing sometime in 2023 is 40584 Birthday Diorama, with the numbering of the set following on from the upcoming 40580 Blacktron Cruiser and 40583 Houses of the World 1 builds. The former model will be available as a GWP with spends of £170 / $190 / €190 online and in-stores from January 1 to February 14, with the latter believed to be a GWP at some point in January, 2023.

A similar celebratory-themed model, 40382 Birthday Set, was released in 2020 and is still available. The small build includes a brick-built birthday cake, a top-hatted minifigure and a sticker sheet to customise a flag for the character to hold.

Beyond the set’s name and product number, there are no real additional details yet regarding the contents of 40584 Birthday Diorama. However, when searching for the model on the Building Instructions page, the words ‘tbd-VIP-BD’ appear, suggesting that the set could potentially be an upcoming LEGO VIP members reward. However, there’s been no confirmation from the LEGO Group to date regarding any such promotion, so do treat that as pure speculation on our part for now.
