New brick in LEGO Icons 10312 Jazz Club was originally planned for VIDIYO
There’s a brand-new piece in LEGO Icons 10312 Jazz Club, but it almost wasn’t released after being part of VIDIYO initially.
LEGO VIDIYO’s days are numbered with the cancellation of the theme causing hefty discounts on the remaining sets on LEGO.com. In a new interview with design manager Anderson Ward Grubb via klemmbausteinlyrik regarding the upcoming LEGO Modular Buildings Collection 10312 Jazz Club, future plans for VIDIYO were referenced with the reveal that the double bass element was first going to debut in the musical theme.
“The moulded bass is definitely new, that was originally for VIDIYO. They didn’t get to debut it, but we managed to save it and bring it back,” explains Grubb.
A rumoured and unconfirmed list of cancelled LEGO VIDIYO 2022 sets may give us an idea of where this double bass brick was set to be introduced, though a music-focused range makes a lot of sense for this brick.

Thankfully, it will be available for all soon in 10312 Jazz Club when the latest LEGO Modular Building launches on January 4 or January 1 for VIP members for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99.
