— LEGO Star Wars Minifigures —

Comfortably into our third decade of LEGO Star Wars as a theme, there are hundreds and hundreds of different LEGO Star Wars minifigures and an increasing number of ways to display them. While there are collections that work best protected and displayed in larger, multi-minifigure cases, some minifigures and line-ups deserve individually highlighting in their own, more bespoke display cases.

— Wicked Brick LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure —

That’s the thinking behind Wicked Brick’s LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure. It’s as the name suggests, a display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure. It gives protection from dust and impact to the selected minifigure inside and, much more than that, gives it the real estate and high-quality display that it deserves.

This is primarily down to two factors, the first of which is the quality-designed display case itself. Made from clear and black acrylic plastic 3mm thick in the walls and top, 5mm thick in the base, these display cases are solid, shiny and so simply but effectively draw attention to what’s set up inside. The second factor for why this LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure is so effective in what it does is the specially-designed backgrounds.

These backgrounds feature a classic Star Wars design themed to one of the nine episodes from the Skywalker Saga. They feature one of a selection of planets to have featured in that respective episode, include the episode title and a subtle yellow border too. For each Star Wars film, Wicked Brick has created three different backgrounds, each one featuring a different planet from that episode of the saga.

The yellow border and text at the top that lists which episode helps to beautifully frame not only the background image, but also the minifigure that sits in front of it within the case.

These backgrounds, which are easy-to-apply stickers, help turn a simple minifigure in a box into a true display piece that places the selected character well and truly back in the context of the film they are featured in. It’s a simple approach but one that is so cleverly realised within the design of Wicked Brick’s LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure.

The depth and quality of the background offsets the featured minifigure perfectly and makes the entire display aspect of the piece so much more photogenic and eye-catching. The strongest testament to this is the fact that any minifigure placed in front of these backgrounds and within these cases immediately looks a class above. Even that battle droid.

Beyond how appealing these display boxes look and for how well they celebrate the selected minifigure within, they are also very collectible, thanks in part to the fact Wicked Brick has produced 27 different backgrounds that are each as gorgeous as the next, and also thanks to the modular nature of the company’s display case design. Simply remove the detachable lid and another display case of the same size can securely slot into place on top.

It’s yet another unassuming design aspect, but one that manages to smartly balance the individualistic nature and appeal of these particular minifigure cases with being able to place them comfortably and effectively alongside others.

— How to construct a Wicked Brick display case —

Wicked Brick’s LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure is very easy to put together. Once you have unwrapped all the packaging and protection that the acrylic plastic panels arrive in, construction is quick and clear.

The black base comes in two parts that connect together with some small magnets. The inner part to the base includes the LEGO-compatible studs that the minifigure attaches to, while the larger, outer part to the base includes slots for the four sides of the case to slot into. These slots serve as a nice guide for being able to snap together the four sides too.

Before putting together the black, back side to the case though, apply the sticker of the chosen background – this is easy to line up thanks to the grooves that are marked into the one side of each panel. Once that is in place and all four sides are together, the top panel to the case simply rests in place, remaining slightly loose for ease of removal but not too loose to allow dust in.

As a construction process it is one of the quicker and easier ones from Wicked Brick, so much so that the included instructions seem hardly necessary in this instance.

— Price —

Wicked Brick’s LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure comes in at £12.99 in the UK, $15.91 in the US and €15.29 for Europe. With consideration to what it can display for that money, it’s certainly not the cheapest display solution from Wicked Brick – indeed, the cost of two of these is practically the same as the cost of one of Wicked Brick’s display cases for eight LEGO minifigures, complete with a select background.

That being said, the LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure isn’t like anything else, nor is it meant to be – these are luxury display options that offer the ability to display the most special LEGO Star Wars minifigures in your collection at a level way above any others that you may have. These display cases are for the most unique minifigures or those with special value to you and for those sorts of minifigures, you need a display case that reflects that just the same.

If you want the best value for displaying minifigures, look to the larger display case options. If you are after something very special for something very special, that’s where the value in the LEGO display case for one LEGO Star Wars minifigure is best felt.

It’s cheaper, faster, and easier to purchase an individual ring holder from Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or any hobby shop and cut the finger off and put down two plates. Boom.
