There’s a mystery in LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade 

LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade has a mysterious set of numbers that even has one of its designers perplexed as to its purpose. 

One of the lesser-known features, at least compared to the working maze and spinning sculptures, in 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is a changing scoreboard with different scores to display. However, even designer Sven Franic doesn’t know what its numbers mean. 

“I’ve been asked that so many times by now that I’m interested myself in what it means,” responded Franic when asked about the scores and potential references in a roundtable interview with Brick Fanatics and other LEGO Fan Media. 

The numbered stickers provided for the scores include 3,600, 6,900, 8400 and 10,275 with a gear rotating a stickered piece.

“I haven’t been able to find out what they mean because that’s the high scores that Bandai Namco gave us, and I just never got around to asking them.” 

Why Bandai Namco insisted on these numbers is unclear. 3,600 may be a reference to the perfect score that can be achieved in the arcade game of 3,333,360 points, but 3,360 might have made more sense for that Easter egg. 

The odd-numbered nature of 10,275 is especially interesting considering that such a score isn’t possible as far as we know in the original PAC-MAN arcade game as everything rewards an even number of points. 

Unless Bandai Namco wanted to reference 3600-2 Build Your Own House, 6900 Cyber Saucer, 8400 Space Speeder and 10275 Elf Club House, their reasoning behind these insisted scores is unclear. 

10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is available now, but you might be wiser to wait to order it until June 9 as a double VIP points event is about to begin. In the meantime, you can read our review of the new set.
