Third LEGO Collectible Coin sells out at the VIP Reward Centre

The third LEGO Collectible Coin has already sold out at the VIP Rewards Centre, just one day after it first became available.

The Octan-themed ornament follows in the footsteps of the first two coins, which disappeared almost as quickly after launching in January and February respectively.

And just like those Castle and Pirates-themed coins, this latest collectible is already fetching way above its VIP points value on the secondary market. In fact, a quick browse through eBay’s sold listings reveals that it’s selling for as much as £57.99.

If you’ve got VIP points to spare, the final two coins – based on Classic Space and the LEGO gold coin – could therefore be worth grabbing even if you have no interest in the collectibles themselves. (That’s if you’re minded towards reselling, of course.)

Based on the release pattern of the past few coins, you can expect them to arrive in the VIP Rewards Centre on April 1 and May 1, though we don’t yet know in what order they’ll launch.

For now, if you missed out on the Pirates coin and want a complete collection, the aftermarket is unfortunately going to be your best bet. Nobody said being a LEGO VIP was easy…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
