Disney+ UK launch date brought forward
Disney+ has announced that the service will arrive in the UK one week earlier than previously announced.
The new streaming service from Disney, Disney+, was announced to be launching on March 31 in the UK. Now, on social media the date has been announced as being brought forward to March 24. The price has also been confirmed as £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year.
With the Child, more commonly known as Baby Yoda, already everywhere on the Internet, the Disney+ marketeers have leaned into the character for the announcement tease.
Original content that will be available includes Star Wars: The Mandalorian and new episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Two LEGO sets have been released based on Star Wars: The Mandalorian, 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack (review) and 75254 AT-ST Raider (review).
There are plenty of series and movies beyond Star Wars available on the streaming service, with many tying into LEGO products released over the years thanks to the long-standing partnership between the LEGO Group and Disney. As well as the classic Disney stories, the libraries Marvel, Pixar, Fox and Lucasfilm have been perused to fill the streaming service with a mix of comedy, drama, animation and documentaries.
A second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian has been confirmed for late 2020.
