Every brand new LEGO set rumoured for 2022 – June update

Huge reveals across June have ticked off most of the LEGO sets rumoured for the rest of 2022, but there are still a handful yet to be confirmed.

LEGO CON proved to be a surprisingly significant source of brand new sets – at least relative to last year’s event – which means we’ve already seen previously-rumoured heavy hitters like 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, 10497 Galaxy Explorer and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, all of which are due to land on shelves in August.

That’s not our lot for the rest of 2022, however, with more sets sure to arrive in the run-up to Black Friday and Christmas. Below is a comprehensive round-up of everything currently rumoured to be launching across the rest of the calendar year, which still includes plenty of potentially wallet-busting sets. Bear in mind that nothing here is confirmed at the moment, though…

LEGO Avatar

We’ve known for a good while that LEGO Avatar sets are coming later this year, and the first of what’s expected to be four different SKUs was unveiled at LEGO CON in the form of 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls. Rumours suggest the other three sets will be smaller and a little bit cheaper than that 1,212-piece set, but you’re still looking at a high minimum entry cost.

LEGO Disney

Just one more LEGO Disney set is currently slated to be joining the line-up in 2022, but it sounds very promising: 40521 Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion should – at least on paper – be a follow-up to last year’s wonderful 40478 Mini Disney Castle, offering a more accessible way to celebrate the House of Mouse for those on a smaller budget.

The Wizarding World’s three direct-to-consumer sets have so far delivered a microscale model, a minifigure-scale playset, and a huge, buildable display model – so it makes total sense that this year’s biggest Harry Potter build would be a huge vehicle. Rumours suggest the newest Hogwarts Express will weigh in at a magical 5,129 pieces, for a not-so-magical $469.99.

LEGO ICONS / LEGO Creator Expert

Since our last update to this list, the LEGO Group has announced two stupidly-massive LEGO ICONS sets in 10303 Loop Coaster and 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle. Rumours suggest they won’t be the biggest sets in the theme for 2022, however: that accolade will apparently go to 10307 Eiffel Tower, which is said to be this year’s equivalent to 10276 Colosseum and 10294 Titanic.

10304 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 – €159.99
10306 Atari 50th Anniversary Gaming Console – €169.99 / $199.99
10307 Eiffel Tower – €629.99
10308 [Winter Village]

LEGO Ideas

The LEGO Group’s crowdsourcing theme is churning out sets at quite the clip this year. No sooner had the dust settled on 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night than 21334 Jazz Quartet was upon us, and now – as that model arrives in early access for VIPs – the next is already said to be coming in September. Check out that price tag, though…

21335 Motorized Lighthouse – $299.99

LEGO Marvel / LEGO DC

The superhero themes both turn 10 years old in 2022, but the LEGO Group hasn’t done much to celebrate their anniversary (in contrast to Harry Potter and NINJAGO in 2021). We’re still getting some great sets regardless, though – hello, 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum – and it sounds like LEGO Marvel will at least get a couple more massive models before the year’s out. DC fans, meanwhile, may have to make do with a 4+ set.

76210 Hulkbuster – $299.99
76215 TBC – $499.99
76220 The Batcycle vs. Harley Quinn – $9.99
76225 TBC
76226 TBC
76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar – $44.99

LEGO Speed Champions

Two more LEGO Speed Champions sets are on the way in August, breaking the theme’s single-wave cycle for the first time in years, and delivering its first cars based on movie franchises. Still rumoured alongside 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 and 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, however, is a third mystery set that we know precious little about.

LEGO Star Wars

With 75323 The Justifier and 75337 AT-TE Walker both unveiled at LEGO CON, we’ve now seen almost the entire LEGO Star Wars line-up for 2022. That’s all bar one rumoured set, which is also said to be the most expensive of them all in 75331. Details are still few and far between, but the LEGO Star Wars team may have been hinting at its identity through their t-shirts at LEGO CON

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
