Here’s how to watch LEGO Jurassic Park’s animated movie

Details for when and how you can watch LEGO Jurassic Park: The Unofficial Retelling have surfaced, along with a full trailer.

A LEGO-fied version of Jurassic Park is on its way to your screen via Peacock, as already teased in a brick-built digital poster. Now, a full trailer shared on Facebook by the LEGO Group has given us a closer look at what to expect, as well as details of how people around the world can watch.

The trailer offers a glimpse of several scenes that highlight how many shots from the original film are being recreated, only using LEGO elements instead of CGI and actors. Indeed, you’ll recognise a few of the dinosaurs included in the trailer from recent set releases, such as the brachiosaurus from 76960 Brachiosaurus Discovery and the infamous T.rex from 76961 Visitor Center: T. rex & Raptor Attack.

Similarly, familiar human faces will also make a return, with minifigure versions of characters including Ellie, Malcolm, and Alan all featured prominently in the trailer. Other iconic scenes are hinted at (often with a LEGO twist), such as the memorable scene where the T.rex rips through the red and black banner in the visitor’s centre.

The classic LEGO movie humour is also at play, with Malcolm tossing a red LEGO brick out the back of the Jeep, leaving the T.rex to howl in pain when it treads on it – a pain almost every LEGO fan will be able to identify with. Poor T.rex, is all we have to say.

One element that sadly wasn’t replicated in bricks is the dino dung, now on screen in an eerily realistic style that looks slightly out of place next to the digital minifigures and LEGO elements – especially as we’ve already had a LEGO dino dung in real life.

Nonetheless, it looks like LEGO Jurassic Park: The Unofficial Retelling will be a treat for fans of the franchise, telling the same story but in the unique LEGO movie style. The animated special will be available from October 10 on Peacock in the United States and on Sky/Now in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, before premiering later in Japan on December 31.
