First LEGO City summer 2023 sets revealed

The first images of this summer’s LEGO City sets are here, revealing a vibrant mix of urban buildings, exploration vehicles and plenty of new animals.

Online retailer JB Spielwaren has published listings for 12 brand new LEGO City summer 2023 sets, which look to continue the theme’s resurgence under new creative lead Simon Lucas. Featured in this wave are the return of the Arctic and Deep Sea Explorers subthemes – now combined into one line, at least aesthetically – along with a new city centre, family house, ice cream shop and more.

Dive into all the images and info we have so far below, and keep an eye out for an official reveal at LEGO.com (complete with international pricing and more pictures) in the very near future.

60362 Car Wash

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €19.99 Pieces: 243 Release date: June 1, 2023

The smallest set in the LEGO City summer 2023 wave (so far) offers somewhere to clean all those LEGO City cars you’ve been stockpiling, complete with the LEGO Group’s classic brush pieces. There’s a car in 60362 Car Wash too – of course – and a couple of minifigures to round out the scene.

60363 Ice Cream Parlour

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €34.99 Pieces: 296 Release date: June 1, 2023

The denizens of LEGO City must really love ice cream, because the LEGO Group has been serving up frozen treats to them for the past few years across various sets. The latest instalment in the soft scoop saga is 60363 Ice Cream Parlour, which features a brilliant melting ice cream motif – and plenty of unique flavours. (Blood orange, maybe?)

60364 Skate Park

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €54.99 Pieces: 454 Release date: June 1, 2023

If LEGO Friends can have a skate park, so can LEGO City. So says 60364 Skate Park, which makes fun use of the bright orange ramp introduced for the City Stuntz subtheme, and includes a healthy mix of wheels for its minifigures: a skateboard, a scooter and an off-road bike.

60365 Apartment Building

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €84.99 Pieces: 688 Release date: June 1, 2023

One of two residential buildings in the summer 2023 wave, 60365 Apartment Building gives your minifigures a space-conscious living solution. Like most City buildings, it’s just a façade – but one with a fun colour scheme and plenty of details, from a rooftop palm tree and solar panels to a bike rack and mobility scooter.

60366 Winter Sports Park

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €104.99 Pieces: 1,045 Release date: June 1, 2023

LEGO Sports circa 2003 is back, sort of, in 60366 Winter Sports Park. Combining a ski slope and climbing wall, this set follows 60364 Skate Park in offering multiple sports all in the single set: there’s a snowboard, motorbike, skis and even a toboggan for racing down the slope. And standing at the bottom is a requisite first-aider, just in case…

60368 Arctic Research Ship

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €149.99 Pieces: 815 Release date: June 1, 2023

Don’t let that huge gulf between price and pieces put you off: 60368 Arctic Research Ship includes not only enormous boat hull pieces, but also a brand new LEGO orca. There’s a lot of plastic in the box as a result, and plenty of play potential for younger fans.

60376 Arctic Snowmobile

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €9.99 Pieces: 70 Release date: June 1, 2023

Did someone say new LEGO animals? This pocket money-priced set includes new adult and baby seals, along with a funky snowmobile reminiscent of the classic early-‘00s Arctic sets. There’s even a camera on a tripod (or maybe a quadpod?) for documenting the polar animals. Expect 60376 Arctic Snowmobile to sell like hot cakes come June.

60377 Seaforesting Boat

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €29.99 Pieces: 182 Release date: June 1, 2023

Another menagerie-in-a-box, 60377 Seaforesting Boat includes a shark, manta ray, baby sea turtle, two fish and a brand new adult sea turtle. There’s a boat and some minifigures too, but we all know what you’re really looking at this LEGO City set for.

60379 Research Submarine

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €104.99 Pieces: 842 Release date: June 1, 2023

Continuing the smaller arctic exploration sets’ dark blue, white and orange colour scheme, 60379 Research Submarine packs in a sizeable sub, shark-infested shipwreck and even a tiny single-person mech. Yes, even LEGO City can’t escape the all-encompassing lure of LEGO mechs. But this one does look pretty nifty…

60380 City Centre

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €209.99 Pieces: 2,010 Release date: June 1, 2023

The biggest and most expensive set of this entire wave, 60380 City Centre is a sprawling snapshot of urban living – and unlike its predecessors in this format, doesn’t devote a substantial portion of its pieces to extraneous vehicles. A tiny tuk-tuk is basically your lot, which leaves the rest of its 2,010 bricks to build a hue and impressive mix of shops, food stands and even a hotel.

60391 Demolition Site

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €49.99 Pieces: 235 Release date: June 1, 2023

This 4+ set is so far the only one anchored around construction, and packs in three different vehicles for younger builders to get to grips with. 60391 Demolition Site is as much about knocking stuff down as assembling it, though, with a demolition ball ready to rapidly dismantle office number three. A spider will then scuttle out from the ruins, for… reasons?

60398 Family House

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €52.99 Pieces: 462 Release date: June 1, 2023

A true 21st-century home, this modern abode features solar panels, an electric car and charging station, and a greenhouse for self-sufficient living. If we’re starting to sound a little like an estate agent, it’s because 60398 Family House looks like a genuinely great new addition to the LEGO City suburbs.

According to previous rumours, there are still more sets to come for LEGO City in summer 2023, including a brand new aeroplane, so check back with Brick Fanatics for more as we get it. Also note that these set names are translated from German, so are likely not final.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
