LEGO Harry Potter Magical Mystery Hunt contest starts tomorrow across the UK

The LEGO Group’s Magical Mystery Hunt for the missing Flying Ford Anglia kicks off across the UK tomorrow, with some spellbinding prizes up for grabs.

If you’re based in London, Cardiff or Edinburgh, you’ll be able to take part in the competition in person by hunting down one of three golden minifigure statues across tomorrow and Sunday (November 6 and 7). Harry can be found somewhere in Covent Garden, while Ron and Hermione are located along Cardiff and Edinburgh’s respective Castle Streets.

Once you’ve found the statue, you’ll need to use your smartphone to scan a code and follow a series of clues, which will eventually lead you to the secret, hidden location of the LEGO Flying Ford Anglia. The first person to reach the iconic car will win every single LEGO Harry Potter set currently available, from 76386 Hogwarts Polyjuice Potion Mistake to 75978 Diagon Alley.

That doesn’t mean there’s nothing in it for later participants, though: as long as you’re successful in your search, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win not only the same bundle of physical LEGO sets, but also tickets to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition.

Don’t worry if you’re not able to make it to a capital city this weekend, either – you can still take part from the comfort of your own home by heading to LEGO.com and loading the digital map. And don’t forget, there’s another chance to win some epic LEGO Harry Potter prizes in Brick FanaticsMagical Minifigure Hunt, which is currently underway on Instagram.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

Hey, just wanted to say having done this the promotional material was somewhat misleading, to say the least. Namely, the car was only in London and this was only revealed you’d made it to the end of the Hunt. We travelled to Edinburgh as it was the nearest location however had we known the only location with the car was London, we’d have gone there.

How do you book ticket for this? As I’m struggling to find any information anywhere.
