Polar Express projects pulls into LEGO Ideas station, again
The Polar Express is getting yet another chance at a LEGO Ideas set as the third project based on the festive movie pulls into a review round.
LEGO Ideas 21344 The Orient Express Train may be joined eventually be another train recreation as By NarrowGaugeNut‘s The Polar Express model has reached 10,000 supporters, safely passing it into the third 2024 review round.
The 2004 film is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year and while this LEGO Ideas project has missed its chances of becoming a set in time for the anniversary, the lengthy model has at least made it to 10,000 supporters just in time. The creation depicts a 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive, a tender with Powered Up components, a passenger car and an observation car alongside six minifigures.
It’s a similar model to 21344 The Orient Express Train, even down to the custom track display base present in the official set. It’s these similarities that may limit the potential of the LEGO Ideas Polar Express submission in the third 2024 review round.
For now, the Polar Express project joins the third 2024 review round after two previously rejected submissions in 2022 and 2021. There are currently 33 projects in the final round of 2024.
