A working Polaroid camera is now in the LEGO Ideas review

The latest LEGO Ideas project in the second 2022 review offers a unique way to capture moments in bricks – a camera with a themed photo frame.

Working Polaroid Sun 600 LMS from JulienG12 has entered the second 2022 LEGO Ideas review round, joining another 10 projects that will also be considered for future sets.

Using 834 pieces, this brick-built recreation of a classic camera is labelled as working, though that doesn’t quite mean it can take any pictures. Instead, you can load the build with the provided frame fitted with your favourite picture, then eject it with the press of a button. The finished result matches the function of the real camera.

Other functions include a folding section for outdoor or indoor use and it may come in handy for storage too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
