Custom DeLoreans flood in following reveal of LEGO 10300 Back to the future time Machine

The reveal of 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine has inspired several custom LEGO DeLoreans at minifigure scale from the community.

It’s safe to say that at least a few people are excited about the upcoming release of 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine on April 1 as multiple smaller DeLorean models have been shared on the LEGO subreddit in the days following the reveal.

One of the most recent minifigure-scale DeLoreans comes from n8Bee and imagines what the time machine could look like using a modern selection of elements including a Speed Champions windshield to capture the interesting angles of the real vehicle. It’s also functional as the wheels are folded down in another image of the build.

Another take on the angles of the DeLorean in LEGO bricks comes from jvartandillustration, using multiple transparent elements for the windshield and a single sloped piece for the hood.

Those who think this looks like a nearly perfect replica of 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine would be right as user legoman8008569 admits in a comment that they aimed to recreate the CUUSOO creation using parts they had on hand, as evident by the classic LEGO wheels.

Anyone with similar excitement for 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine can rest easy with the knowledge that, unless you have a time machine, you don’t have long to wait for the latest Back to the Future build as it launches on April 1, 2022, for £149.99 / $169.99 / €169.99. It includes one DeLorean time machine, accessories to match the appearance in all three movies, two minifigures and 1,872 pieces.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
