LEGO Geometry Dash model remixes Super Mario set design
The rhythm-based platformer Geometry Dash now has a project inspired by it in the third 2024 LEGO Ideas review, but it’s ultimately too familiar.
Whether you’ve played it or not, Geometry Dash has become an especially popular online platformer with a peak of over 88,000 concurrent players according to PC Gamer. While it’s not quite as big as the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog or Minecraft, at least 10,000 enthusiasts believe that it should be a future LEGO Ideas set.
EZgappie’s Geometry Dash Cube has earned a spot in the third 2024 LEGO Ideas review with all kinds of references for fans to spot in a 2,656-piece set that took them several weeks to design and redesign.
The build should look familiar as it borrows features from 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block and its similar colour scheme makes it all the more identical. There’s even a hidden section in the same place as the Super Mario set.
Whether this would be enough to demand a major redesign has yet to be seen as the model has not been approved for a set yet. Still, it’s unlikely that they’d want a LEGO Ideas set to be quite so similar to another build, whether it has retired or not.
