Brick Fanatics is speaking to the LEGO MASTERS USA contestants to find out more about them and their passion for the hobby. Jessie shares her story without even using her ventriloquism skill
It is competition time. Some of the USA’s finest builders are about to participate in LEGO MASTERS, the ultimate brick building contest. Each week they will face building challenges to push their LEGO skills to the limit.
To find out about each pair of builders, Brick Fanatics is speaking to these creative people. Jessie and Kara nicknamed their duo ‘The Higher the Hair the Closer to God’.
Kara was unavailable for the interview unfortunately, but the press materials reveal that she is retail manager who will bring focus to the competition.
In this exclusive interview, Jessie reveals her childhood favourites and what LEGO models she likes to build now.
What is your LEGO background?
Jessie: My favourite LEGO as a kid was the space theme and the spaceman minifigure. It was my first memory of LEGO. My dark ages were when my youngest of four sons grew up and didn’t do LEGO much anymore. So, I put the LEGO away and didn’t do much of it – LEGO MASTERS brought me back to it.
What are your favourite types of models to build? Where do you do your building?
Do you collect LEGO sets and/or bricks?
Jessie: I really enjoy sets.
Do you have any other creative hobbies?
Jessie: I was a ventriloquist for over 25 years and I also love to write.
LEGO MASTERS will premiere on Fox in the USA on Wednesday, February 5 at 9.00pm ET/10.00pm PT.
