Brick Fanatics is speaking to the LEGO MASTERS USA contestants to find out more about them and their passion for the hobby. Mel reveals his recent conversion to the brick in this exclusive interview
LEGO MASTERS USA is about to begin. Some of the best builders in the US are competing to see who will receive the title of LEGO MASTERS as they face tough challenges that will push their building ability to the limit.
Brick Fanatics is speaking to the builders who have their sights on the ultimate LEGO prize to get to know them better. Mel and Jermaine are known as the ‘East Coast Bricksters’ and are bringing their skyscraper skills to the contest.
Unfortunately, Jermaine was unavailable for interview, but according to the press materials he is a technical cell phone consultant.
In this exclusive interview, Mel shares how his LEGO space grew from the kitchen to the garage.
What is your LEGO background?
Mel: I have been creating with LEGO for three years.
What are your favourite types of models to build? Where do you do your building?
Mel: I love to build buildings, very tall skyscraper like buildings. I starting building inside of my kitchen, but once I moved into my newly bought house I was able to turn my garage into my LEGO room.
Do you collect LEGO sets and/or bricks?
Mel: I collect both, I love creating my own models but at the same time I enjoy the new sets that LEGO has to offer.
Do you have any other creative hobbies?
Mel: I do have a history in panting with acrylic and oil paintings.
LEGO MASTERS will premiere on Fox in the USA on Wednesday, February 5 at 9.00pm ET/10.00pm PT.
