Fan-designed Great Blue Heron comes into land at LEGO Ideas
An incredibly detailed LEGO rendering of a Great Blue Heron has come into land at LEGO Ideas, to the tune of 10,000 supporters from the community.
FascinatingAnteater044’s Great Blue Heron wouldn’t look out of place next to LEGO Icons 10331 Kingfisher Bird, tapping into the love of realistically designed LEGO animals. The brick-built bird stands on an artfully designed stand, built to look like the real-life bird’s habitat, complete with reeds to mimic the side of a river bird.
As an extra bit of life injected into the set, there’s also a tiny turtle included at the heron’s feet – perhaps about to become an unwitting snack.
Great Blue Heron becomes the first LEGO Ideas project to gain 10,000 votes this month, but the 33rd of the current review round. Remind yourself of the competition in the table down below.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for the Blue Heron, I Love the Lego birds. I got hooked with the King Fisher my brother bought as a birthday gift. This is my current collction…
