LEGO Ideas Canal Houseboat sets a course for success

A successful fan designer for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program may finally have success on LEGO Ideas with their Canal Houseboat project.

LEGO Ideas user JonasKramm has managed to earn 10,000 supporters for their LEGO Canal Houseboat project on the platform, earning it a spot in the first 2024 review round. This isn’t their first attempt at a LEGO Ideas model but they have not managed to become a LEGO Ideas fan designer so far.

Where they have found success is on BrickLink as part of the second series of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program. Their not-approved Mushroom House from LEGO Ideas goes into the crowdfunding phase after being chosen for a LEGO BrickLink Designer Program set.

With any luck, the intricately designed and playable LEGO Canal Houseboat may find success on LEGO Ideas as the ship is fully furnished with plenty of space for minifigures outside and inside.

It’s the ideal subject matter for a LEGO set and something the LEGO Group has approached before in LEGO Friends 41702 Canal Houseboat, though that has been retired for a while now.

JonasKramm’s canal houseboat project now joins 39 other submissions in the first 2024 review round and it seems likely that the deadline for new entries into this round is closing in.
