Modular Arcade hits 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas (again)

An arcade compatible with the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection has hit a LEGO Ideas milestone, and could become an official set.

The LEGO Ideas website allows people to submit their own LEGO set designs, which (if they gain 10,000 supporters) enter a review stage. Assuming the set is considered viable by the LEGO Group, it then goes on to become an official model on store shelves. 

The latest model to get this honour is Avilabrick’s Modular Arcade, which boasts the same basic form factor as the Modular Buildings Collection. The ground floor offers a pizzeria, while the first floor offers the arcade itself – and includes attractions like an air hockey table, a pinball machine and a crane game. The top floor includes a simple apartment for the building’s owner, and features a kitchenette and a bed.

This basic design has actually been submitted before by Avilabrick back in 2017, but they decided to re-submit their basic concept to take advantage of new elements and design programs. Even with that redesign, though, this LEGO set may struggle to make it onto shelves. That’s because the LEGO Group is reportedly making a modular pizzeria/jazz club next year, which clearly overlaps with Avilabrick’s design.
