The Iron Giant stands tall with 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Iron Giant has clanked its way past 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, giving it a chance to become a fully-fledged LEGO set.

Designed by hachiroku24, the brain behind these LEGO Insects that also made it to the LEGO Ideas Review stage, this towering figure of the Iron Giant is based on the heartbreaking animated film of the same name. The big-hearted Iron Giant stands on a brick-built plate decorated with trees and a car to give a sense of his enormous scale. He’s also partnered with his on-screen pal, Hogarth Hughes, complete with his wavy locks of hair.

Just like in the film, Hogarth can perch on the Giant’s iron shoulder. The proportions of the Giant are impressively accurate, sticking close to his appearance in the 1999 film.

This latest entry marks the 39th project to enter into the first 2023 review. Here’s a reminder of all the other successful projects currently waiting to be reviewed by the LEGO Ideas team.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
