Yet another Totoro project reaches a LEGO Ideas review
The LEGO Ideas community are eager for My Neighbor Totoro to get an official set, as the second 2025 review has gained a second submission.
The latest in a long line of proposed LEGO models based on 1998’s My Neighbor Totor, from Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli, comes from Petrus Odyssey. This is their fourth project to reach 10,000 supporters and their second time submitting this precise build.
The animated movie is recreated in a beautiful diorama complete with multiple figures to populate the scene. These are a mix of two minifigures and some brick-built figures, all using existing elements. The figures proposed in this diorama build include Satsuki Kusakabe, Mei Kusakabe, Totoro, the blue Totoro Chuu, and the white Totoro Chibi.
While builds based on My Neighbor Totoro haven’t been successful so far, that won’t stop the LEGO Ideas community from pitching projects for the film. For now, Petrus Odyssey’s submission joins the ever-expanding second 2025 review. Notably, this is the second Totoro project in the review round, similar to SpongeBob and Hamilton.
