Avatar and Coraline return to LEGO Ideas once again
Four more LEGO Ideas sets have made it past 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas, including two familiar IPs: Avatar and Coraline.
We’re back with another update to the LEGO Ideas 10K Club, with four more fan-designed projects making it past the 10,000 supporter milestone. The speed at which LEGO sets are qualifying isn’t slowing down by much, now hitting a massive 85 projects in total, with many more racing towards the finish line.
Perspective Play: Wall Art Optical Illusion
First up is Gonelf’s Perspective Play: Wall Art Optical Illusion, a quirky take on LEGO Art-style mosaic sets. The model is made up of a pattern of medium and light blues on the top layers with an offset pattern of dark blue and white tiles on the lower, creating an illusion of movement by tricking our eyes and brain.
Avatar the Last Airbender – Netflix
BenFank is back for the second time with Avatar the Last Airbender – Netflix. The project includes the flying bison, Appa, as the main build, as well as minifigures of the main characters: Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, and Uncle Iroh. As well as the previous submission from this fan designer, there have been not one, but two other fan-designed projects based on the popular TV show in the past.
Coraline: The Pink Palace
Similarly, LordClimentos95625 is back for another round with a refined version of Coraline: The Pink Palace, after the first iteration was not approved by the LEGO Ideas team. They claim they’ve completely reworked the design, while keeping in as many references as possible to the much-loved children’s film.
Chiikawa
The designer of 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night and prolific 10K Club member, TrumanBricks, is back with another project: Chiikawa, based on the popular Japanese anime of the same name. The set includes three minifigures and three dollhouses, with each one themed after a different character from the series.
