Model of Italian radio station hits 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas in just eight days

In just over a week, 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas have backed a model of Italian radio station Deejay Chiama Italia, which now moves on to the review stage.

Deejay Chiama Italia, a well-loved Italian radio station that has been on the air since 1991, managed to get support in an incredibly short amount of time, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen something so close to many Italians’ hearts gain support so rapidly. Earlier this month, we saw U Liotru, the famous Elephant Fountain in Catania, reach 10,000 supporters in just seven days, showing a real base of support not just in Italy but across the globe.

FACEBRICKUP, made up of LEGO fans Roberto Ceruti (Brickup) and Jody Padulano (Facebrick) stated in the proposal for the project that: “Music is always a life companion: it excites us, reminds us of past moments, makes us dream… And there are those who add friendship, company, happiness to this… those who slowly enter our homes through music, cars, offices, becoming part of our family: DEEJAY CHIAMA ITALIA, with Linus and Nicola, has always been part of our life!”

The set itself shows us the interior of the station, complete with the large screen behind several computer monitors, as well as smaller details such as headphones on the desk and a guitar in the corner.

It’s clear that many people, from hardcore music fans to casual listeners who just love listening to the radio, have a genuine fondness for the radio station. The LEGO Ideas review board will now decide whether to produce this project as a real LEGO set, with the review stage taking place between January and May of this year.
