Every LEGO set rumoured for 2022 so far – January update

As 2022 kicks into high gear, we’ve pulled together all of the rumoured LEGO set releases for the year ahead.

Before a LEGO set releases, there’s often a swirl of rumour around it. These rumours aren’t always proven accurate, but they can often give us a good idea of what to expect. And even if they’re not accurate, it’s always fun to speculate about what might be.

This list contains all of the rumours we’ve heard so far about 2022 LEGO releases. Naturally, none of this has been confirmed, so until we hear official word from the LEGO Group itself, take all of these with a pinch of salt.

LEGO Star Wars

As an evergreen theme, new LEGO Star Wars sets are always to be expected. It’s highly likely that some will draw inspiration from The Book of Boba Fett, which is currently streaming on Disney+.

There have been several rumours surrounding 2022 releases in the theme, some of which (like those around new Cody and Rex minifigures) have apparently been debunked. For now, we have potential product numbers from online retailers, with some potential release dates and piece counts. A new Advent calendar seems likely, as well as a special release before May the 4th; other sets include a mix of play and display models.

LEGO Marvel

With new Marvel media eternally on the horizon, new LEGO sets are to be expected. Some sets have already been confirmed for Thor: Love and Thunder, with two more (of unknown subject matter) potentially due to release in 2022.

An additional run of Marvel Collectable Minifigures was rumoured for 2022, but this seems to have been inaccurate. However, it’s possible we’ll get a second LEGO Bill Murray; the Ghostbusters actor is confirmed to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, scheduled for release in 2023. A tie-in LEGO set seems very likely, considering the first two Ant-Man films each received a LEGO set, and one may have been rumoured.

76219 – 298 pieces, €19.99, April 29
76220 – 43 pieces, August 1
76221 – 456 pieces, August 1

LEGO DC

While LEGO DC sets have become rather Batman-focussed, that may change in 2022. A number of different LEGO DC sets may be launching this year, including one inspired by DC hero Doctor Fate. Other 2022 films like Black Adam, The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may provide inspiration for new LEGO sets going forward.

76216 – 496 pieces, June 1
76217 – 476 pieces, June 1
76218 – 2,708 pieces, August 1

76225 – September 1
76226 – September 1
76231 – 268 pieces, September 1
76209 – $99.99

LEGO Disney

The Disney theme has broadened outwards lately, with a mix of princess and non-princess sets released for fans. One retailer has listed three sets that may be part of the Mickey Mouse subtheme; they’re scheduled for a June 1 release.

10777 – 103 pieces, June 1
10778 – 184 pieces, June 1
10780 – 215 pieces, June 1

LEGO CITY

LEGO CITY is another reliable theme in terms of product releases; rumours for this year suggest new Stuntz, Trains and farm-based sets. The latter option is particularly interesting; farm-inspired models have been largely absent from the theme for several years. Most of these are due to release in mid-summer.

60331 Stunt Bike: Road – 10 pieces, June 1
60332 Stunt Bike: Fearless Scorpion – 15 pieces, June 1
60333 Stunt Bike: Bathtub – 14 pieces, June 1

60355 Water Police Investigation Missions – 278 pieces, June 1

LEGO Collectible Minifigures

Two Collectible Minifigures lines are scheduled to release in 2022. As previously stated, claims that one of these would be Marvel-inspired has seemingly been refuted by new information. However, one is still rumoured to be inspired by the Muppets; the other is reportedly Series 23 of the regular Minifigures collection. Six-pack bundles for each theme will also be available this time around.

71033 The Muppets
71034 Series 23 – September 1, 2022
71035 The Muppets Six-Pack
71036 Series 23 Six Pack

LEGO for Adults

A new set aimed at the older LEGO fan is scheduled to be released in 2022. Apparently, it has a piece count of 1,503 elements, and it’s due to release on August 1; however, the original product listing is now unavailable.

The set is also licensed, although which licence it’ll represent is a mystery. While there’s obviously plenty to choose from at the moment, we don’t have enough information to hone in on a particular one right now.

10302 – 1,508 pieces, August 1

LEGO Stranger Things

Several hints have been dropped by the LEGO Group that a new major release is coming in the Stranger Things theme. So far, 2022 has brought us two sets inspired by the Netflix horror series – 40549 Demogorgon & Eleven and 854197 Demogorgon Keyring. The official LEGO Twitter channel has also made a few cryptic statements.

Hopefully, by the time Season 4 of Stranger Things arrives, we’ll have a clearer idea of what to expect from this theme.

LEGO NINJAGO

The LEGO Group’s ninja theme continues to be a firm fixture of the LEGO lineup, with several new sets rumoured for a summer release. Prices fluctuate wildly, suggesting the LEGO Group is hoping to cast a typically wide net.

71759 4+ Ninja Dragon Temple – $39.99
71768 Jay’s Golden Dragon Motor Bike – $19.99
71769 Cole’s Golden Dragon Cruiser – $39.99
71770 Zane’s Golden Dragon Raider – $29.99
71771 (Dark Temple) – $79.99
71772 The Crystal King – $69.99

71774 (Golden Dragon) – $139.99
71775 Samurai X Mech – $119.99

LEGO Harry Potter

A number of Harry Potter sets may be on the way for 2022. A particularly unusual set amongst these rumoured products is one costing $469.99, which suggests an unusually high piece count. At the moment, concrete information about the 2022 Harry Potter releases is extremely thin on the ground apart from the upcoming wave.

76400 – $19.99
76401 – $49.99
76402 – $79.99
76403 – $99.99
76404 – $44.99

76406 – $49.99
76407 – $89.99
76408 – $119.99

LEGO Jurassic World

LEGO sets for Jurassic World Dominion have been confirmed, though the specifics of what the LEGO Group are planning have not yet been revealed. Rumours suggest that nine models for LEGO Jurassic World are coming later this year

76943 – 94 pieces, $19.99 / €19.99, April
76944 Jurassic World: Dominion – 140 pieces, $49.99 / €49.99, April

76950 – April
76951 – 254 pieces, $44.99 / €44.99, April

LEGO Gaming

LEGO Gaming is rumoured to be the latest theme dedicated to video games, with listings and reports suggesting that multiple titles could be included in the theme. These include Horizon: Zero Dawn. LEGO Gaming is currently unconfirmed, though a new logo for LEGO Games has been released over the last year.

76989 Horizon Zero Dawn Tallneck – €79.99, May 1

A new mystery LEGO theme

An all-new theme, codenamed ‘Coconut’, is reportedly arriving in October 2022. No information about it is currently available; current speculation suggests it could link to James Cameron’s Avatar, Indiana Jones or even something completely different. It’s also worth considering that this new theme may not arrive at all, especially as the product listings for the theme are no longer available.

It seems that Creator Expert has nothing in plan 2022 as the genre is not mentioned at all. Pity.

I don’t want to seem rude but I think that you are discluding Lego Friends and the Disney Princess sets for the summer. I think that people are always leaving out Friends and Disney Princess in their Lego videos or their websites. I just want to say that and I hope you might think about including Friends and Disney Princess news more in the future.
