E.T. enters 2025 LEGO Ideas review following ’80s contest

Despite not scoring a LEGO Ideas set via the ’80s challenge, E.T. has another chance in the first 2025 review round complete with light brick.

Lafabrick’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial submission has just hit 10,000 supporters, giving it a chance at becoming a future LEGO Ideas model in the next review round. The buildable figure of the iconic alien comes complete with a flowerpot, sweets and plenty of moving limbs including an extending neck. Overall, the project uses 2,990 pieces.

Unlike Jimmi-DK‘s proposed build in the earlier ’80s challenge, the project by lafabrick incorporated a light brick to illuminate his chest, and LEGO Ideas sets have incorporated electronic elements previously, including in 21335 Motorised Lighthouse.

We’ll have to wait and see whether this larger E.T. model stands a better chance at scoring a LEGO Ideas model in the first 2025 review, or whether the only presence the iconic film has in the portfolio remains to be a Fun Pack for LEGO Dimensions.

For now, here’s every submission in the first 2025 review so far, totalling 27 models at the time of writing.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
