LEGO Ideas Bike Lanes cycles its way to 10K supporters

An expansion to the CITY Road Plates system has achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, with it proposing safer options for eco-friendly travel around LEGO cities.

Bike Lanes is the latest project to pass into the LEGO Ideas review stage, with creator MarcelSteeman joining the 10K club on his first submission to the platform. LEGO City sets have included some bike lane elements in one of the more recent models, 60306 Shopping Street. However, this proposes an expansion to them, using one of the new road pieces for a wider lane.

Also included in the submission are some accessories for the existing LEGO bikes, such as a child seat, bike rack and cargo-carrying versions of the vehicles.

As noted by Marcel on Twitter, one of the newly-revealed CITY sets includes the required road element in the same colour as is in the original project, meaning all that would be needed are printed designs or stickers.

This is the 58th project in the current round of the LEGO Ideas review stage, with the entry period closing soon. You can find the rest of the submissions in the round here in what has become easily the biggest selection projects in a single review stage yet:
