LEGO Ideas could be diving into Subnautica next

Wetter may be better for LEGO Ideas’ next set as a game-inspired project based on Subnautica’s Aurora qualifies for the current review round.

OG Brick Studio‘s Subnautica project has made a splash on the platform as the latest entry into the third 2023 LEGO Ideas review round, barely making it in before the end of the year and the likely start of the first 2024 review round.

For those who have played the oceanic survival video game Subnautica, you’ll recognise this proposed model as the massive Aurora, scaled down for an Ultimate Collectors Series-style build. The project comes complete with a display plaque and stand with minifigure and uses 2,991 pieces overall.

The front of the ship can be changed to be broken, representing the Aurora in its crashed state and various accessories can support this effect. This depicts the ship as it is when you first start playing the game, but at least you can relive the glory days of the Aurora in this project.

While it isn’t a LEGO set just yet, it now has a chance at being approved as part of the growing third 2023 review round. Here’s a summary of every submission in the selection so far.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
