Every LEGO set confirmed and rumoured for 2023 – October update

From Indiana Jones to The Lord of the Rings, here’s the latest update to our complete overview of every new LEGO set rumoured to be on the way in 2023.

Keeping on top of every LEGO set currently rumoured to be in the works is no mean feat, particularly with so many themes vying for your attention. For 2023, those now include the return of some long-dormant licences – hello The Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones – and a cult classic in BIONICLE, alongside brand new products for ongoing themes like Star Wars, City and LEGO Icons.

Everything here is of course only rumoured for now, so should be taken with a general pinch of salt until we get official confirmation. But as it stands, 2023 looks set to be another bumper year for the LEGO Group – and another painful year for our bank accounts as a result. (Don’t forget: you can always find the best savings through our LEGO Deals page.)

LEGO Art

Feeling arty? How about LEGO arty? Or just… LEGO Art. The LEGO Group clearly hopes you’ll still be feeling its original theme of mosaics (and beyond) come 2023, as it’s apparently got at least one more set in the works. As 31207 Floral Art has shown us, mosaics are no longer limited to 48×48 grids, so this could genuinely be anything at this stage.

The first wave of LEGO Avatar sets has only just arrived on shelves, but four more sets will reportedly follow in January. We’re not big gamblers at Brick Fanatics, but we’d put serious cash on these being based on the upcoming Avatar: The Way of Water.

LEGO BrickHeadz

We’re starting to get a clearer picture of the full BrickHeadz line-up for 2023 (so far), with rumours of two new LEGO Star Wars sets arriving in January and May respectively. Perhaps most interesting at the moment though is the return of WALL-E to LEGO shelves, following 2015’s Ideas set – and all those Lord of the Rings characters

The LEGO Group’s Chinese New Year sets are now a regular feature in the annual calendar, and two more are thought to be joining the range in January. If so, they’ll replace 80108 Lunar New Year Traditions and 80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival, both of which are retiring by the end of 2022.

LEGO Classic

LEGO Classic sets have always been a great way to get creative with bricks – there are no instructions supplied in the box – and 2023’s line-up will seemingly be leaning headfirst into that concept with four Creative Kits. We’re expecting the neon set to be a feast for the eyes…

It sounds like LEGO Creator 3-in-1 is going all-in on animals next year, with an early list of sets including a rabbit, parrot, dogs and a unicorn. (Spot the odd one out.) 31139 Cozy House sounds pretty promising too, particularly for its hefty piece count.

Just one LEGO DC set is thought to be on the way in 2023 so far, in the form of a product tied to Warner Bros.’ long-mooted The Flash movie. LEGO Disney

There’s not a whole lot to go on with LEGO Disney in 2023 at the minute, mostly because these rumoured set names are pretty much par for the course for the theme. The Cars set will likely be a DUPLO model (judging by its product number), but beyond that it’s reasonably familiar territory here.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings

Hot on the heels of Amazon’s Rings of Power TV series, LEGO The Lord of the Rings is said to be making a limited comeback in 2023. We say limited because at the moment, the theme is only rumoured to consist of three BrickHeadz two-packs and an enormous direct-to-consumer set. Fingers crossed more is in the pipeline, though.

Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
