Ring ring! LEGO Ideas calls in another project to its review

LEGO Ideas rings in another project with 10,000 supporters to the first review of 2023.

Designed by Brick Dangerous, the designer behind the Travel Suitcase, which is currently in review, Classic Telephone does exactly what it says on the tin. At 572 pieces, it’s an impressively detailed brick-built phone, complete with a spin dial and a gold-effect frame to balance the earpiece on. You can interact with the numbers and it’s sturdy enough to lift the phone as if you were using it.

“In a world where telephones at home are disappearing, and we only use mobile phones … Why not have a classic phone made with LEGO pieces?” reads the designer’s description.

Classic Telephone is the 47th project reach 10,000 supporters in 2023, joining 46 others in the review stage. Their fate is now in the hands of the LEGO Ideas Review panel, but for now here’s a reminder of what sets we could see making their way onto shelves in the next few years.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
