A LEGO Ideas Addams Family house climbs up to 10,000 supporters

A LEGO Ideas project of the classic 1991 version of the Addams Family house has managed to creep up to 10,000 supporters, and now goes into the review stage.

The Addams Family house project, pitched on July 17, 2022, has an incredible five floors and would potentially come with seven minifigures (eight if you include the sole minifigure hand in a box that makes up Thing). 

The house itself is fully furnished and has some secret areas to explore as well as details like the suits of armour, a piano under the staircase, and several of Morticia’s plants. As we can see from the dates, this version of the Addams house was not based on the recent Wednesday TV series, which came out in November 2022.

In the 1991 film, the house itself didn’t ever actually exist, and the front images of the house that they used in the film show a full-sized facade instead which has since been demolished. It seems that the project could be very popular with fans who have long sought after an accurate model of both the interior and exterior of the famous Addams house.

LEGO Ideas fan creator Yang Yang explains that the house, if selected to be an official set by the LEGO Group, would be 2,998 pieces. Given the size of the house in the film, this seems to check out. When designing the set the creator added, “I found the house in the movie very big. When building a Lego set, keep most of the details in the house as small as possible.”

If the Addams Family house passes the LEGO Group’s review stage in May, we could potentially see the project as a real set available to buy in the not so distant future.
