LEGO Ideas gets a new take on the ever-popular castle submission
LEGO fans might have a special place in their hearts for brick-built castles, but this submission offers a different style to the rest.
While many LEGO castles stay within the traditional, medieval style, the latest LEGO Ideas project to reach 10,000 supporters takes us to a different era: gothic. Designed by Ponyraptor (their first submission to. reach 10,000 votes), this 2,995-piece set includes various pointed turrets and arched windows, creating a mysterious and intimidating building.
To match the vibe of the structure, Gothic Castle is inhabited by five minifigures: a servant, a lady, two gentlemen, and (of course) the Count himself, who could have walked straight out of Dracula. The interior is also decorated in keeping with the style, including objects such as candlesticks, a chandelier, and brick-built gargoyles.
The fate of Gothic Castle now rests in the hands of the LEGO Ideas review panel, joining 47 other projects who also made it through to the first round of 2023. Here’s a reminder of all the other projects to pass 10,000 votes so far.
