The Moon: Earth’s Companion successfully orbits the LEGO Ideas review

Successfully joining the first LEGO Ideas review of 2023 is The Moon: Earth’s Companion, a 3D poster of the orbiting satellite.

The first LEGO Ideas review of 2023 continues to expand, with more fan-made submissions managing to crack the 10,000 supporters’ mark. Following in the footsteps of the recent BrickLink-LEGO Colour Table is yet another wall-mounted display piece that’s joined a huge line-up of projects all competing to become official sets.

The Moon: Earth’s Companion is the brainchild of SharkyBricks and offers up a retro-style 2,360-piece LEGO Art space poster featuring the celestial body. At the centre of the 3D model is a highly-detailed version of the Moon itself, with the satellite’s recognisable craters and rocky landscape recreated in brick form. In addition, the poster depicts the various phases of the Moon, representing how it appears when viewed from the Earth, plus a small panorama of our planet rising over the lunar landscape.

There are now a total of 63 fan submissions in the first LEGO Ideas review of 2023, with a decision on which creations will make it through to the next stage due to take place sometime later this year.
