LEGO Ideas Jukebox should take a page from 10334 Retro Radio

A sizable jukebox proposed for LEGO Ideas has one major issue, but resolving it would lead to an interesting alternative feature.

Brickmaster84 is the latest member of the 10k Club on LEGO Ideas, with their giant brick-built jukebox having reached 10,000 supporters, consequently earning a spot in the first 2025 review.

This build is specifically based on the Wurlitzer 1015 from 1946. It uses 1,821 pieces and measures 43cm high, 32cm wide, and 26cm deep. Its size isn’t unlikely to be a problem for LEGO Ideas, which has the 4,090-piece 21356 River Steamboat coming up.

The more likely issue with this model may be the 10 light bricks proposed for the bottom of the build in varying colours. While such a feature would make this LEGO Ideas set unique compared to 10334 Retro Radio and other brick-built item recreations, multiple light bricks in LEGO sets are uncommon and they tend to drive up the price of a set.

Ditching the light elements for the final build, though, would open up a path for another electronic element, taking cues from 10334 Retro Radio. The LEGO Icons model has a space for a phone or speaker at the back of the build but also features one of the new sound bricks to play a select range of radio-adjacent noises.

It’s a perfect piece and function for this proposed Jukebox model, and would allow the speaker space to be integrated still. We’ll have to see whether this model is approved for an official LEGO Ideas set as the first 2025 review continues, and what might change with the creation.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
