LEGO Ideas ’80s finalist aims for chance at Golden Girls set

After struggling to find a purchase in the massive LEGO Ideas ’80s challenge, it’s not the end of the road for LEGO Golden Girls just yet.

Martin_Studio might not have much luck in the LEGO Ideas ’80s contest – where they were selected as a finalist but not the winner – but 10,000 LEGO Ideas users have come together to give their Golden Girls model another chance at an official model.

With The Holiday – Rosehill Cottage and their Edward Scissorhands model in the first of two ’90s contests already giving them more chances of success on LEGO Ideas, Martin_Studio isn’t stopping as their Golden Girls model enters the first 2025 review. This build is designed in the same style as several other series-inspired models, including 21328 Seinfeld and 21319 Central Perk.

With lighting overhead and four minifigures of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia, the kitchen recreation pays tribute to the 1985 series with a detail-focused model, prioritising accuracy over play features as you would expect.

Given the success of other series on LEGO Ideas, this may be one project to keep an eye on in the first 2025 review, which continues for now with 40 submissions at the time of writing.
