LEGO Mary Poppins has another chance at becoming a reality
After a previously unsuccessful attempt at a LEGO Mary Poppins set, another Ideas user is taking the reins and heading back to Cherry Tree Lane.
TheGlobeGuy‘s proposal for a Cherry Tree Lane set, based on the iconic location from Disney’s Mary Poppins, has just hit 10,000 supporters, giving it a chance at becoming an official LEGO Ideas set in the first 2025 review. After the likes of 21352 Magic of Disney and more specifically 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, a LEGO Ideas Mary Poppins set isn’t too far-fetched.
Minifigures of Mary Poppins (1964 version), Bert, Jane, Mickael, Mr Banks, Admiral Boom, Mary Poppins (2018 version), Mr Dawes Jr, John, Annabel and Georgie are pitched. The builds include a trio of houses on Cherry Tree Lane as well as the park opposite the street. The houses include Admiral Boom’s house with a ship-centric exterior.
There’s plenty of details to admire inside the three houses, all calling back to moments in the film and there’s room for the LEGO Ideas team to expand on the proposal with the backs of the houses for a more complete model.
For now, a LEGO Ideas Mary Poppins set is but a dream for at least 10,000 LEGO Ideas users and we’ll have to see whether or not a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious official model is in our future as the first 2025 review continues.
