Mushrooms Collection grows past 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas
Taking a spore out of 21342 The Insect Collection’s fungus, fan-designed mushroom-themed LEGO set makes it into the current Ideas review.
17-year-old Polish fan designed Micha?, who goes by Keczup on LEGO Ideas, has made it into the 10K Club for the very first time, with The Mushrooms Collection. The set includes three distinct types of mushroom, all rendered in impressive detail: the red-and-white fly agarics, often found in the Mediterranean or Central America, as well as the designer’s home country of Poland; chanterelles, often found on sandy, acidic soils covered with moss; and porcini mushroom, found widely across North America and Europe.
Each LEGO mushroom has its own brick-built base, with vegetation local to the natural habitat. The trio of three different types of one group is reminiscent of an existing LEGO Ideas set, 21342 The Insect Collection – evidence that the concept has proven popular in the past.
Of course, that’s no guarantee that the Mushroom Collection will also make it onto shelves. We’ll have to wait for the official review of the first LEGO Ideas round of 2025 to know for sure. Here’s a reminder of the 46 other projects currently qualified.
