LEGO Art meets anime in latest Ideas project to make it past 10K
A new LEGO Ideas project has made it past 10,000 supporters, adding an anime twist to a LEGO Art-style design.
Italian LEGO fan designer and first-time 10K Club Member BrickOzzy has combined three images into one in The Super Robots, inspired by his love of the Super Robots animated series, including Mazinger Z, Daitarn 3, and Goldrake. The anime-style depictions are rendered out of LEGO elements on a brick-built frame, made from a variety of different pieces like electric guitars, engines, levers, radios and racks to create what they call “a ‘grunge-metal’ effect”.
The total build uses around 1,400 pieces and measures 54 by 38 studs including the frame (48x 32 studs if not). Each robot pays tribute to the three series named above, capturing the designer’s love for the genre as a whole.
The Super Robots becomes the 53rd fan-designed project to make it past 10,000 supporters, putting it up against some stiff competition. Remind yourself of what they are in the complete list down below.
